Can't we claim less than 16x16 ?

Heya, just a fast question, can we claim less (and how) than the default 16x16 thingy ? Or is there a plugin that could be made, downloaded on the server for that ? Because i'm going to built a railway, a pretty long one and I wonder if I couldn't claim 2x16 for exemple, exept for the stations 16x16.Just wondering.And cuz I don't need so much space for 2 lines of rail .

I think it works by chunks, to make it easier for loading and stuff.

Why would you want to claim less? It won't make a difference, chunks would have to be resized right?

And a faction/town block is also a chunk.

Its not based on the MC chunks, since it can be changed, but once a number is picked at the start of the server, it has to stay.

Land claims must be square, and it is set to 16x16. It cant be changed since everything is established already.
