I downloaded it and then ran the installation one and it installed it into this folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Valve\HLServer
So i read the readme and then ran that application.
It then updated it self to be a newer one that had the new steam icon.
But when i run that one it just goes through a bunch of commands and doesnt let me imput the configuration.
So i contacted steam through steam support got an email the next day (today) saying "check the web site"
So i did and there was nothing on the topic of it just running and doing nothing...
So plz HALP!

everything you need: http://www.srcds.com/db/engine.php?suba ... 1097362093
U cant just click on the steam icon and install. u have to either make a shortcut with -parameters or make a batch file to launch it. That installer is used for any source server so u have to tell it wat mod to install and where to do it.
Example: for hl2mp server..... make a shortcut to that installer then in the properties add to the end on the shortcut link: -command update -game hl2mp -dir "C:\SRCDS"
**Just check out that site above, it shows it all step by step

Interesting I followed every step and ran Srcds.exe and nothing pops up. So I right click on it and tell it to open. still wont open. it says there are no errors... just wont open. and source dedicated server toll from steam wont even start up when i click "Start Server"ant_8490 wrote:everything you need: http://www.srcds.com/db/engine.php?suba ... 1097362093

Ya i saw that in the srcds.exe at the end of the configuration, And i don't have a router as far as I'm aware of, cause I'm on a laptop and i have AT&T for internet so i just connect to the gateway (although there is a router even when its off i can still use the internet.) , Ive ran into this problem b4 and i Google'd port forwarding and i got an AT&T thing and it asked me for the IP, number (2WIRE336) and the password, the only problem is i have no idea what the IP is, so im gonna find the command in command prompt to see all the things connected to my computer.ant_8490 wrote:yep 27015 UDP is the default port, but u can make it anything.
