How do you stop the chat from displaying over the MP Scores?

Whenever I bring up the multiplayer scores in a game, some of the scores and names are blocked by the in-game chat in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Is there anyway to make it so that the multiplayer scores are displayed over the chat and not the other way around?

simple fix: increase resolution

more complicated fix: there's probably a alpha/transparency setting in the resource files. I'll see if i can find it.
