Forced To Reset....

Well, a lightning storm yesterday turned off all power in our area. When the server came back on, tons of error messages popped up about chunk issues not existing. Tried to do a temp fix last night and this morning, the error log was about 3gb. I still tried to mess around with it and couldn't get it to work.

So, unfortunately, I have no choice but to restart.


The new world is the same seed and after having this incident, we are more prepared than before. I will manually backup the entire minecraft folder each night to ensure that stuff won't be permanently lost.

Besides that, there are some upsides. I spent 8 hours on making a very nice spawn point (still not done). Also there were some towns that were disorganized and weren't even in use (Rustyville). Also the world size was over 800mb, over 5000chunks (that is 5000 blocks of 16x16). Lastly, in the beginning, you were able to use any command in the beginning since we didn't have permissions set up right away.

So, I think our minecraft server is even better as its more fair and its totally protected from lightning storms xD.
