Ubuntu is not the answer, nor is Linux Mint Cinnamon.
Check out this distro called Zorin OS.
It's what I run, and it runs a lot of stuff I couldn't run with Ubuntu or Linux Mint Cinnamon.

Linux Distributions
A little follow up to my previous thread, this is for those who may not want to run Zorin.
I don't have the link to all (or any) of these, but here are some you may want to check out also, if Zorin's Windows style interface doesn't do it for you.
(Obviously) Ubuntu 14.04
(Obviously) Linux Mint Cinnamon Qiana 17
(Obviously) Arch Linux
(Now for non-obvious)
Kubuntu 14.04
Xubuntu 14.04
Ubuntu GNOME 14.04
Deepin 14.04_1
OzUnity
Linux Lite
Chapeau
SalentOS
that's only some.
If you wanna find some great distributions
go to http://www.sourceforge.net and just click search without typing anything and go to System Administration > OS Distribution and take a look at some of the content available.
(The following on the list above can be found on sourceforge)
OZUnity
Linux Lite
Chapeau
SalentOS
But there's so many more than just those.
Recommended if you want to do it by flash drive, use UNetBootin.
MultiBootUSB is good, but it fails in some areas. Such as being unable to launch some distros, and you cannot install Linux Mint Cinnamon, the installer will crash every time, and the ones you do install will experience Interal Errors and System Program Problems a lot more often.

Re: To anyone who may be running Linux
What's the difference between Windows and Zorin?
I've never heard of this OS.

It's not as popular as the Ubuntu's or the Linux Mints.Peter Brev wrote:What's the difference between Windows and Zorin?

But it's a great OS, I recommend checking it out. The difference is Zorin is a Linux OS, it just has a 'Windows' like interface, rather than the standard Unity desktop of Ubuntu.

I've tried Zorin before, but as with any linux distro I try, it's always lacking "something" and I go back to Windows.

Oh don't worry Ant, eventually Linux will surpass Windows. It's inevitable, especially with Windows becoming easier and easier to hack as the years go by and Linux still pretty secure.ant_8490 wrote:I've tried Zorin before, but as with any linux distro I try, it's always lacking "something" and I go back to Windows.

Why do you have a subjective view over Microsoft?
You can't predict the future, so let it roll in and wait.

Re: To anyone who may be running Linux
There's a reason why Linux only has a 1-2% market share and Windows is around 80%...
On another note, Linux Mint was pretty good when I tried it.

Re: To anyone who may be running Linux
From wikipedia:
And both Mint and Zorin feel too bloated with preinstalled software for me (yes i've tried them). That's why i prefer Archlinux, on the other hand, i'm too lazy lo type all these commands to install it so i just use ArchBang. Plus it has a livecd that can be loaded into ram aswell.
market share doesnt mean much here :]Most computers are sold with a pre-installed OS; some users replace that OS with a different one due to personal preference, or install another OS alongside it and use both.
