lolwut, gaben works on all of the servers XD. A lot of the servers sounds are already mp3 and work perfectly fine. wav is for micspam. Grapist, Are ya Mad?, etc. are all mp3s. No need to convert. Try deleting yours and redownloading.

All the sounds are .mp3 (44100Hz) which is perfect for the source engine. Like rusty said, maybe just redownload it from the server.
