A year after I bought the half-life 2 episode pack, (which included hl2dm) I got bored with online checkers and singleplayer gaming so I went on hl2dm, got owned, owned a few people. Later on my cousin found the deathrun server while he was wreaking havoc on my account and I came to area 51. (Where I almost quit because every time something went wrong, everyone would blame me for it because I was the new guy.)

Got hl2:dm off of ati free offer thing
Wasn't very good at the like, 2 deathmatch server i may have gone on
Saw the gamemode was Deathrun instead of deathmatch and thought I'd give it a whirl
