R_3dsky 0 recommendation?

Post by Stuntman0007 »

This gets rid of the 3d skybox and can drastically help the frame rate of people who are having a low fps

I loaded deathrun_underworld_v2_hl2 client side and with r_3dsky 1 my fps was around 50
Turning it off looking in the same direction it jumped to 100

Other maps may not be quite so noticeable but it can really help those who complain about maps that drag their fps down.
I can almost guarantee you'll get at least 10 more frames a second.
(learned of this cmd from css surf, went from 20 to 100 there. It's a really nice cmd to know if your pc is older)

Just download Onti's fps enchancer.
Helps a lot.
I have a edited version which I edited my self and it's still good but has the settings I want too and settings which I don't want.
But I always use fps_max except in dm when I need to turn fps_max off.

Not a bad idea.
Always done this on maps on Gmod that were really really big.

Good idea for people who would have a low performance on their computer.

Tis why I suggested it.
It can help maps like underworld and Stygian to become more popular as some people seem to have issues with them.

I'm thinking just have it somewhere visible to most/all people (motd, one of those chat thingies, etc.)

My computer handles all map.
The map that makes my fps goes down around 400, is dr_cave.

I could do it too with:
What about mine then?
But, I run yours with 800.
It has increased a little bit since you made a 3D skybox, but couldn't go further up due to water and displacements.
But water didn't cause any problems since it was cheap water apparently.

Unfortunately I didn't use cheap water... Cheap water really looked like shit and if people cannot run my map then too bad...
This is the 21 century were shit is more advanced and if people can't run my map then it's their problemo. :P
