Told me to restart the computer for it to finish installing, I went to go make a drink
Come back, Damned thing is rebooting itself, Lost 4 years worth of paperwork, 540GB of shit all togther.
You know what i said?
Fuck it, Shit keeps going, I can't fix it.
Just a side note, To Nicdel, People can post what they please, Would love to see you try and stop that
Lastly, To be a bit helpful. Use Avast. Has worked perfectly for me.

This is the response from my husband(he is a computer engineer) :
I would invest some time into setting up a backup.
You don’t need to backup programs (as they can be reinstalled)
but your original data should be put somewhere for safe keeping.
I use a combination of Wuala (for immediate syncing) and
& Crashplan (scheduled) to do my backups. I also heard good things about Backblaze.
Most of the services are REALLY cheap or have a "free teir"
http://www.crashplan.com/
http://www.wuala.com/
http://www.backblaze.com/
Just remember "two is one and one is none" - try to use a combo of backup (local+cloud or cloud+cloud) etc...
Now on to the issue at hand:
Im going to assume you are on Windows 8 -
if not I would definitely use a separate antivirus (like http://www.clamwin.com/)
As for Microsoft Security Essentials it works great and gets improvements every month from Microsoft. (I use it exclusively)
The software it updated automatically with Windows update - so its set and forget mostly.
I think it is more important to just make sure you use Firefox or chrome.
Also it’s a must to to keep your flash & java updated.
Most exploits are written for Internet Explorer anyway.
There is little chance getting infected though any of the sites you listed in your original post.
Also, there is almost no chance of a virus crashing your computer hard disk -
it was probably a hardware failure (I hope you RMA'd or replaced)

Another thing is that I downloaded Team Speak 3
So, what can I not trust?

You can trust every website if you have antivirus installed. Your hdd had a hardware failure.

Sorry, Aya. I am having shitty headaches that are basically making me really pissed since I am tired of 'em, plus I skipped the middle page.Aya wrote:

Last thing to know is, if the graphic card on a laptop dies, will it just be cheaper tobuy a new good laptop/computer? Just for future reference.

Sorry,it did sound too direct after I read what she wrote.Sorry, Aya. I am having shitty headaches that are basically making me really pissed since I am tired of 'em, plus I skipped the middle page.
Depends, If it's under warranty I would definitely send it in for repair - free is always goodif the graphic card on a laptop dies, will it just be cheaper tobuy a new good laptop/computer?
If it's not under warranty - actually getting it repaired might not be so expensive in some cases -
I would definitely ask the manufacturer for a repair quote for shiggles.
If it's say, like, under $300 I would definitely go for the repair over a new computer.
But I guess it all comes down to how old it is and if you have the extra cash for a new machine.
Personally, if the laptop was purchased pre 2007-2008ish I would go new - as I am primarily a computer gamer.
And as was mentioned above, they have to replace the entire mainboard in the laptop, it's all built in.
