So saw a post from a site i liked on facebook about this boy, Jack Andraka, who found a way of testing pancreatic cancer.
It was really interesting, so I red through the whole interview on Forbes.com and i had some thoughts on that.
The courious part about this is that Jack is just 15 years old.
There was this one quote, what was really inspiring to me.
Usually, for developing stuff in sciences you often need those fancy, college mathematics and formulas and a great base of knowledge.
Overall, your age is important for others to take you serious. To make them listen to you (or even to start a conversation) you need to reach that "social state of acceptance"
which is determined through your outer appearance, background history (if not available, mostly first impressions) and of course, your age and level of life experience.
But Jack made a very interesting point here:
"That’s why the internet is so great – people can’t see what age or race you are and I can have a great exchange of information."
On the internet you can be anything. No one will know. Anonymity is everywhere on the internet.
You dont have to care about this "social state of acceptance" or even the level you are on.
Apart from that, the internet is a great source of knowledge and discoveries. It holds everything we know on servers, easily accessible for every person that has a connection.
You may live on the middle of nowhere, but you can gather around with people from all over the world, exchange knowledge, form ideas, start projects and learn.
You will find acceptance in this world and it doesnt matter where you live, what you wear or how old you are. You can do what you want, while getting together with other people that think the same.
So I asked myself "If Jack (and generally other people) can do this, why can't I ?".
The answer is simple. I can. Like everybody else. if you are interested in stuff, get your head around it, fight for your ideas and let no one take them away from you.
Don't give up when you fail at the first, second or maybe (in Jack's case) even the 199th try.
Constantly improve your skills and knowledge about that topic. The internet is almost infinite. So is the knowledge it contains.
The point is, if you like something, then do it. Whether it be an interest in skateboarding, science, football, chess or programming. You can do it. You can change the world.
if you are constantly following your idols and watching their videos, lectures, reading their books while thinking: "Man, they are so great. I could never be as good as them."
You can.
You follow their ideas and you show interest for them. That should make you think: "why can't I do something like that?" and then all you have to do is simply to do it.
They started small. They started with an idea. They did't gave up and now they are what they are.
"I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant; it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are."

It may sound silly that i took a quote from a pokemon, but it's not. Its the truth from whoever it comes. It shouldnt be bothered about who the one is, who spoke wise words, it should be the words he spoke. That idea he tried to deliver.
If you already show interest about something, you are on the right track. Follow it and don't let anyone get in it's way. If you don't have a passion right now, keep searching. Everyone has a special talent.
The internet connects all these things. You have free sources of knowledge and education in any ways. There are people out there that keep up with you and try to help you, you just have to ask them.
The point in this text is that you have to do what you want, do what you like and don't give a shit about others. They are not you. They live their own live and have their own ideas.
Use the internet as a source for connection and knowledge. Whoever you are, how old you may be, people will listen to you and conversate with you.
Even if you are just a 15 year old boy who wants less people to die of pancreatic cancer.
Even if you are just a 15 year old boy who got inspired from this person and asked himself "Why cant I do something like this?".
It does not matter. You can archieve greatness.
If you want.

Very interesting...
My brother got his 87' (I think) Mazda RX-7 for $500 when he was 14...
Bought a bike and has rode it by the end of year 16.
Has a $10/hr job and works 40 hrs/week along with school (occasionally 50hrs/week getting around $500 for that week)
Also I'm thinking of going into the air force after high school. (preferably a pilot so I can go Pew Pew :p)
