Please don't take what I'm about to say to heart, I am simply going to state what you (or if it was myself in this mess) should have done from the start.
Don't join a pvp server and not pvp/raid. I hosted a pretty large Tekkit Raid server a few months ago, had an average of 20-50 players online, Dead was there lol (<-- Fun fact) and I had so many players join my server and ask me for peaceful status...and even till now, this confuses me. Why join a pvp/raid server (Hints Factions) with the intent to build something as cool as Sunville. Sunville was amazing, nothing like the shit-hole I lived in when I played lol but guess what, if I lost my "shit-hole" in a raid or grief, I rebuilt it in less than 5 mins and started the hunt for the asshole who did it lol. With that said, I have no "pity" for sunville, it got what every faction on this server will sooner or later get

Keep the 20 day rule. It works, I hop online every week or so just to keep my power some-what decent, and its not hard to do at all. Also, I'm in high-school, taking college classes after school for graphic design, WHILE running over 9 servers for MC/Source games. Anyone can find the time to open MC, Connect and leave the computer alone for 10 mins

Also I planned on annexing the entire thing and protecting all of the buildings. I would have eventually replaced small structures with updated ones and put this on a city grid for my residents to occupy. Unless any of the other factions wanted to contest sunville of course in which case I would have happily blighted them off the map.

I totally agree.
At first it was just because this was the only minecraft server that i knew and trusted, so i decided to try it and i was not entirely happy. A pvp server is great, the peaceful factions just don't have their place - that creates a large disparity. (Yes i was in a peaceful faction)
