HL2DM 'Engine Error' (help)

Hi guys,

I have a problem with my game not starting and i cant figure out how to solve this problem. Have been googling the problem for a while but without luck.
The problem happens whe I try to launch the game from steam. It starts loading a bit but goes back to desktop and and error appears saying 'Engine Error; Client.dll Init() in libary client failed'. I click OK and thats it, I can't play.
I did play the game before, earlier this same day and i dont think meanwhile steam had an update or a restart or something.
Also there's alot on google about this error apearing with the GMod game, wich I don't have, but not for hl2dm.
Hope someone can help me out...

I have this sometimes, I don't know how. Most of the time when I launch the game, it also ways happens when I try to play offline and when I've no internet connection.

There was an update today. I know sir daddy has the same problem after downloading that update.

Freaking gaben and his updates T.T
Game broke too.(^) Won't be able to play on the deathrun server until this is fixed

gaben is new :3 same error

*edit* sometimes it says close any games before verifying the cache
so my guess is that it needs to verify the cache
**EDIT EDIT** nope didnt work

Thanks for the quick replies. Now I know I'm not the only one xD.
Hope they fix it soon and if someone else figure out how to launch the game let us know!

Everyone has this error so we all have to wait. When the game works again, we will then update the server.

Can't believe that they release a game-destroying update lol. Apparently Valve never heard of testing.
