Restriction on trails
Hi guys
I have several times seen players who will troll everybody else, by activating all trails, while spectating other players . This will cause most people to lag insanely much, and is simply really annoying, so i was thinking that you could put a restriction on the total amount of effects activated. That amount could be 2 or 3 maybe
Thanks people
Edit: Here's an example: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/7656 ... tab=public

Re: Restriction on trails
Any decent graphics card should be able to handle all the trails at once. Although we prefer that donators do not activate all at once, there is no forced rule on it. Most donators dont do this since they probably don't want to lag themselves.

Yeah, but they will just remove them right before the next round starts. Doesn't take long, if you bind !effectsant_8490 wrote:Any decent graphics card should be able to handle all the trails at once. Actually it takes pretty long to remove ALL trails, if you activated all...awesomedude wrote:Yeah, but they will just remove them right before the next round starts. Re: Restriction on trails
Well no, i'm not a troller
My graphics card can easily handle the effects, but for an example, aya is still being trolled by other players (no names needed) with fire, energy core and vertical trails or something equivalent, and her computer apparently isn't that good. Not that it's only her.
EDIT: I understand why a limit or restriction isn't necessary, i was just wondering if it was a possibility

Re: Restriction on trails
You could probaly replace the energy and fire trails with some other trails that demands less computer power.ant_8490 wrote:Any decent graphics card should be able to handle all the trails at once. As I see it 50% of the player base have problems with the energy and fire trails, not only do they lag people, but they are so oversized too so they can blind people.
You can't expect everyone to get a decent gpu in this generation to handle those trails when hl2dm itself only require 4-5 generation cards behind our currently generation.
I'm pretty sure most of the players and donators doesn't have anything in mind if you replace those lag trails and I'm pretty sure that you won't lose donators either.

Re: Restriction on trails
Its also not the graphics card, alot of it has to do with processors, like mine is some shitty amd x2 5000+, My GPU can keep up if I had a more powerful CPU but since I dont my graphics card is bottlenecked. ( 9500 GT )

Re: Restriction on trails
Update: Now I can see a group of people harrasing players with those trails. What they do is that 4-5 ppl wears all the trails at once and spec a spesefic person just to harrash him.
I know I have been told from Ant and Nick that donators can do whatever they like with trails and stuff, but its getting out of hand. 5 fire trails+ 5 energy trails even makes my computer lag, x2 gtx560ti's.

The hell? If that makes you lag, a cheat server would crash you or what?Cpt.Travis wrote:Update: Now I can see a group of people harrasing players with those trails. What they do is that 4-5 ppl wears all the trails at once and spec a spesefic person just to harrash him.
