nope unfortunatly you can't install that on your laptop.
But you can get a good pc running hl2dm at full graphics around 300 euro or less.

Question... Should I make the textures bump mapped? :o it wouldnt reduce fps, well it shouldnt, but it will make it look better...

The only thing reducing fps are open areas with alot of displacements and water.

Cheap water doesn't make you lag at all.
Expensive water does.
Also, if you use water, cheat water, don't forget to add a water_lod_control.

Use the transparents water.
The purpulish water are expensives one.

Btw, I havent started it yet, but If i don't have school tomorrow im definately going to work on it today, and tomorrow

P.S I am about 80% sure that it will be based off of portal 1 and 2. I have ALOT of idea's about how it will look, but I'm still learning, so I'm probably going to attempt to be done by this week, or next week...

:d I need help with textures, all I need to know is how to get portal textures into my hammer, because I guess im too dumb to find out myself... Someone please help....

P.S I have looked all over the internet to try to find out how, but I can't seem to do it... maybe one of you guys could help me.. :P

You will need GCFscape to be able to open the portal materials gcf file.
Program here: http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?p=26

After that is installed, go to your Steamapps folder. Its usually: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps

Open up portal content.gcf and then u can look pick out the textures you want. (You may want to start up hammer for Portal just to browse the textures first so you can make a list of the filepaths/filenames)

Drag the textures you want out of the .gcf and copy them (keeping the same folder structure) to your hl2mp materials folder (usually: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\<ACCOUNT NAME>\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\materials).

Restart hammer for hl2dm mapping and those copied textures should be available in the texture list.

I thought you already had portal installed.... if you downloaded the gfc it will still work but if not then idk.
