Well, actually I got a ton of stories and ideas about Joel Hansen. Pretty much after the combine war is ended it gets disengaged from hl2. A really good one I can think of for a game would be the time when a huge mass of military-armed terrorists attack a group protesting the president's refusal to declare war on japan in the 23rd century, and Hansen is sent to investigate. [This would especially be good for a game because of the huge amount of fighting involved.]
